Senior Design Projects

I am currently not taking new project groups for Fall 2026.

CS 491/492 is run by the department; see the department course page for rules and deadlines. When choosing groups I look for the following.

• The project should involve engineering problems hard enough to exercise what you learned over your computer engineering curriculum so far.
• The main functionality must not be delegated to an existing LLM or a similar external model. Using a model you train yourselves is fine.
• I favor cryptography and security projects, but a strong proposal in another area is welcome.
• I take three groups per year, on a first come, first served basis. I may make an exception to either rule for a very strong idea.
