Virtual Machine Placement in Cloud Systems by Genetic Algorithm

Cloud computing is one of the most popular service in the world. Cloud service providers have to provide availability and reliability of their systems. Therefore, optimization of the cloud systems is essential. The concept of virtualization is the core of the cloud systems. Efficiency of systems that contains virtualization depends on the efficiency of the technique which is used for allocating virtual machines to suitable physical hosts. Therefore, virtual machine placement is a key point for cloud systems. The literature has many approaches to solve the virtual machine allocation problem some of which use evolutionary algorithms. We propose a new genetic algorithm approach for this problem.
