AI Challenges in Clickstream Processing

Chief Data Scientist , Webtrekk Gmbh, Berlin, GermanyThe presentation will introduce data processing challenges (and solutions) at the Berlin-based Webtrekk Gmbh, a rapidly growing provider of website tracking and its automated exploitation for online marketing. In particular, various machine learning algorithms are compared wrt their performance on the session churn problem, a novel problem in online marketing.
Bio: Markus Schaal received his doctoral degree from the Technische Universität in Berlin, Germany, and he is currently working as chief data scientist at Webtrekk Gmbh in Berlin, Germany. Previously he was a postdoctoral researcher at CLARITY: The Centre for Sensor Web Technologies. He has published in numerous conferences, exhibiting a broad and deep expertise ranging from Social Informatics, Web Information Systems, and Data Mining to Recommender Systems, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. His current research focus is the large-scale processing of implicit and explicit user feedback. He has also been lecturing on a wide range of Computer Science Topics at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, and at Middle East Technical University in Kalkanli, Northern Cyprus.
