Computer Science has intersections with many branches of research and studying human visual system is a highly interdisciplinary area which benefits from computation in many ways. This talk aims to introduce students abouttopics relatedto vision science, how it uses computational approaches and opportunities in Bilkent University for conducting research in this area. The talk will be based on my experiences as a graduate student who chose to pursue a Cognitive Science M.S. while continuing research in human vision. The talk will also introduce the research projects in Bilkent University’s Computational and Biological Vision Group in various areas like color and material perception, neuroimaging, shape and lightness perception and imaging genomics as well as the research center facilities and research opportunities for students.
