Direct Manipulation with Accelerometer Sensor in Mobile User Interfaces

As mobile devices become more popular, study on designing direct manipulation interfaces for different applications becomes an important issue. Browsing documents is one such application. Although applications with a direct manipulation interface are highly used by many people, still some problems exist due to the limitations of mobile environments. In this presentation, we try to propose solutions to these limitations by developing a sensor based direct manipulation interface. This interface serves the purpose of navigating over and browsing documents and uses a speed dependent zooming approach to achieve most efficiency.
