Augmented Reality(AR) deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data. It tries to create a virtual reality from the real world objects and interact with them virtually via software. It generally uses a basis from real time video capturing and is "augmented" by the addition of computer-generated graphics. Mobile Augmented Reality ‘MAR’ is the mobile version of Augmented Reality meaning the devices that provide AR are in this case small and easy to carry. It generally tries to overlay a synthesized world on top of the real world with mobile 3D devices. Currently user interfaces for mobile devices do not allow users to interact with the device intuitively. Current interaction models for mobile depend on buttons and accelerometers for some high-end devices. This provides user the functionality to use simple menus and browse through pictures or other files but this is not very easy to use and it is not intuitive. To provide a more intuitive and easy to use interaction system for mobile devices, several techniques are proposed. One of these techniques that have been proposed is camera based interaction. Our project uses this idea to provide an intuitive way to interact with the mobile device. The technique we are using aims to enable direct manipulation with the device using video input that is captured from the camera. The interaction method will map an object’s motions to a virtual space to achieve manipulation.
