Writing the Term Paper
- It is very important that the paper is written well. Its logical
structure, format, English, and style should be good. Please set aside
"enough time" to write your paper and put "enough effort" to write it well.
- The following piece of work about writing should be read before starting
writing:
- You can also read the following book:
- Writing for Computer Science - The Art of Effective Communication.
Justin Zobel. Springer, 1997.
- You can also have a look to the online references
here.
- Papers with no logical flow, unorganized presentation of ideas/facts,
spelling errors, wrong formatting, major grammatical mistakes are not
acceptable.
- After writing, "read" certainly what you have written critically, and go
over your writing again. Iterate. Edit your writing. You will see major
improvements in your writing when you put more effort to write well and when
you edit/revise your writing rigorously. .
- You must format your papers according to the IEEE Conference Article
Style. You can reach to the instructions regarding this style at the following
webpage:
http://www.computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm. Below you can also find two
template files regarding this style: one for LaTeX, one for MS Word.
- Consider this as an opportunity to exercise writing and improve your
writing.
