Can machines think? In 1950 the famous British Mathematician Alan Turing suggested that this question should be replaced by a test designed to determine whether machines can imitate human beings. Is such a test too weak or, perhaps, too strong? Could a machine ever pass it? Does it offer an appropriate basis for granting intelligence? This week's SIGART discussion will focus on these and similar questions. Pinar Saygin will give a short introduction so everyone can join in the intellectual exercise!
Everyone Welcome.
