Given the increasing demand for artwork, we decided to look at the possibility of automatically generating images. |

It seems that almost anything goes in modern art, so we were interested to see if we could encapsulate the artist's talent in a software product. |
| Rather than start completely from scratch, we thought it might be interesting to see what could be done with existing clipart to produce various sorts of collage. We concentrated more on trying to develop reasonably life-like compositions. | ||

| On this page are some example pictures produced by the prototype which automatically places figures on a background image. Notice that figures appear in different locations and sizes in each picture. The program encodes the knowledge of where objects can be placed and adjusts for perspectice accordingly. | ||
